An extract from my ebook

Hi I’m Alex, and I am the author of an ebook I have published on Amazon called To Touch the Sky. My collection of 12 stories, focuses on a wide range of themes. From the supernatural, to challenging social stuff we all struggle to cope with on a daily basis. I use a term to describe that, which I label as the uncertainties of life itself. A number of my stories focus on those issues, which are the shared experiences we all go through, in life, often when we least expect it. Catching us unawares, and my various tales here, in my view, I have designed to get you to think, about your own life, and I encourage you to do so. Something within those stories will resonate. My other stories, look to the exaggerated as well as the absurd that can by use of humour, get all of us, to not take our lives so seriously.

With respect to the format I will be adopting, I will be uploading onto my YouTube channel, 10 videos. One of my ebook videos is already out on youtube. It is called to touch the sky extract. Beginning with my second video, I am featuring here. Let’s get down to it. This video extract is set in the future, in the 24^th century.  It is called Urban Citizen. This is where I fast forward to a totally different time, different economic, political, and cultural system. The main player in this drama, experiences inexplicably actual psychic time jumps back to the 21^st century. Living his experiences through a previous incarnated version of himself which has a profound reaction adversely affecting in the way it impacts himself. I focus in detail on his inner struggles in coming to terms, with the traumatic toxic atmosphere of the 21 century, which is all about survival. So without further ado, let’s do my read of the extract.

 A uniformed stern faced guard hands me a battered bag, sighing he says, “next time you are here and nobody bails you out there will be no release for 12 months. Get going Mr Jones there will be no more warnings next time.” Another version of myself, understands exactly what this all means. I feel this unfamiliar me sigh and attempt to hold back a tear, as I know I will not be able to make it. A wave of dizziness hits, but I can’t linger by the gate. I shuffle onwards down the road. Somehow realising I am going nowhere as my home in this alien landscape is no longer an option. Then suddenly I blackout and all existing images vanish and I am back in the quiet room again. Disorientated I manage to rise shakily from the seat, having to grip the wall to regain my balance. I was in a state of confusion, as definitely an event I had never experienced before had taken place. How had this happened?  Was it a primeval memory reawakened leaving a residue of fear vomited up from the dark force itself?  I must get to the bottom of this flashback relapse. That was for later, as I realised I needed to get back to my family.

I am able to vacate the quiet room with great difficulty. I feel shooting pains radiating up and down my legs, back and arms. Literally I have to force myself out of the room walking gingerly down the centre of the room until I am able to fully re-orientate myself and head for the exit.
